A Bridgeport homeowner is recovering at Saint Vincent's Medical Center Saturday evening after a fire ripped through his home on Chamberlain Avenue.
A neighbor says she smelled smoke shortly after 8 a.m. and then ran to the front yard where she saw the entire house engulfed in flames.
Investigators tell News 12 Connecticut it took fire crews between 20 and 25 minutes to get the fire under control.
They say there was one man inside the house at the time of the fire and that he was rushed to a hospital.
The man's condition is unknown at this time.
Investigators are working on determining a cause of the fire.
