At least 20 people are homeless Thursday after a fire tore through a six-family home in Bridgeport.
Fire officials say residents at 515 Gregory St. woke up to smoke and flames around 1 a.m.
Residents of the destroyed building say they are devastated but happy to be alive. At least 10 people are staying in hotel rooms provided by the Red Cross, and Bridgeport University is housing three students who escaped the fire.
Officials say the arson squad is still investigating the cause of the blaze.
