Firefighter injured in Milford senior housing complex fire
Officials are looking into the cause of a fire at a senior housing complex in Milford that injured at least one firefighter.
It happened today just before 4:30 a.m. at the Foran Towers on High Street.
The fire has been put out, but restoration crews are assessing the damage.
According to officials, the fire started in an apartment on the fifth floor, which is the top floor.
Officials say the fire didn't spread thanks to a working sprinkler system that kept it under control, but there is still smoke damage on the fifth floor and water damage on the third and fourth floors.
All of the tenants made it out safely before crews got there.
One firefighter suffered a minor eye injury but will be OK.
Milford Housing manages the building and say floors one through three have been cleared. It is assessing the damage on the fourth and fifth floors and will help seniors find temporary housing if need be.
