First responders in New Canaan learned how to use the drug Narcan Tueday during a training session.
Narcan is used to reverse an opioid overdose.
New Canaan police say heroin activity in their town is up, and they are relieved to have a new tool to save someone who has overdosed.
A new state law took effect on Oct. 1 that allows police and other first responders to use the auto-injector that is sprayed into the patient's nose.
Silver Hill Hospital, based in New Canaan, paid for Tuesday's training.
