A Connecticut father is giving back to one of the most important people in his life with a book dedicated to him.
Jimmy Olayos, 31, died last year while competing in a triathlon on Long Island. His parents, Jim and Kim Olayos, say they're still in shock.
Jim Olayos is a former athletic director for St. Joseph High School, and is now at Notre Dame in Fairfield.
He wrote a book called "The Kindness Formula," which is about how to be a good person. He says his son had a "million dollar smile" and that people loved him.
Jim Olayos says his book has been 30 years in the making, but was something he wanted to write for his son.
The cause of Jimmy Olayos' death is still unknown. He and his wife, Chelsea, would have celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
The book has raised $25,000 for the Jimmy Olayos Foundation and a $40,000 scholarship at Notre Dame.
