The friend of one of the teachers killed in last week's school shooting spoke exclusively with News 12 Connecticut today.
Victoria Soto, 27, of Stratford, was murdered while shielding her first-graders from bullets. Her best friend, Rachel Shiavone, knew Soto for almost 10 years, having first met as college freshmen.
Shiavone says she spoke with Soto every day and knew she wasn't alright when she failed to respond to a text the day of the shooting.
"By the end of the day, we knew the worst was real and it's a completely overwhelming feeling," says Shiavone. "Your entire world stops."
As for the shooter involved in Friday's massacre, Shiavone says she'd rather talk about the victims and remember their stories.
