A Stamford woman battling brain cancer got a big surprise in Bridgeport on Sunday when a group of her friends came together to help her.
April Barron and Wayne Winston say that Brenda Spell-Jordan's bills are adding up.
The two have started a fundraiser to help Spell-Jordan pay her bills. She hasn't been able to work since she was diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago, and they say she needs as little stress as possible to prolong her life.
"There's days I go to bed and I'm like, how am I going to be tomorrow?" Spell-Jordan says. "Am I going to be here tomorrow?"
Spell-Jordan has gone through surgery, chemotherapy and long stays in the hospital, but she says the best medicine is the friendship of people like Barron and Winston.
