A disabled resident in Bridgeport says he is trapped in his own home.
Victor Martinez has been dependent on a wheelchair for years. He says he's a prisoner in his own home due to the lack of disability access he needs to live an independent life.
The 59-year-old father of three says he weighs 425 pounds and suffers from heart disease and severe respiratory illness.
The graduate of Harding High School says he takes his life into his hands every time he climbs up the stairs to get to his second floor.
"I come to the top of the stairs and I look down and the first thing I do is to ask God to watch over me coming down the stairs because it's pretty scary for me coming down there," he says.
A fund has been established to help him get the access he needs to make his home handicap accessible.
