A funeral procession was held Saturday in New Britain for 11-year-old Jacqueline Torres, whose remains were found earlier this month.

Her casket was carried through a crowd as the community mourned the young girl.

Officials say her remains were discovered in a storage bin behind a vacant home on Clark Street.

Torres’ mother, aunt, and her mother’s boyfriend face charges related to her death.

Police believe Torres died in the fall of 2024 while the family lived in Farmington, and that her remains were moved to New Britain when they relocated in March 2025.
