State Republican leaders outlined plans in Hartford Friday designed to lower energy prices.
Leders presented three plans, options A, B and C. House Minority Leader Larry Cafero (R-Norwalk) says Plan A includes elements agreed upon by both parties, like conservation and energy efficiency. He says Plan B is more controversial, and includes a plan for a gas tax holiday and some utility owned peak generation. Plan C is a combination of both A and B.
Cafero says it is time for leaders to pick a plan and move forward.
The Senate Democratic spokesman says the ABC plans aren't comprehensive enough. He says the Democratic Senate and House leaders are close to agreeing on a bill that could be presented next week for a vote.
The Republicans hope their bill will pass before the legislative session ends on June 6.
