Gov. Ned Lamont officially announced that he is running for a third term on Friday morning.

"Connecticut has made remarkable progress, but there’s more to do to ensure that everyone is sharing in that progress,” said Gov. Lamont. “I’m working to keep the confidence of our state’s residents, businesses, and more to build our momentum by delivering for working families. Let’s keep Connecticut moving forward, together."

Lamont who is running a Democrat filled paperwork last week.

Lamont faces Republican State Sen. Ryan Fazio and Democratic state Rep. Josh Elliott who also running.
