Gov. Dannel Malloy has a request for the Carolina Hurricanes to come back to Hartford.
The Hartford Whalers were a mainstay in the state for 20 years before relocating and rebranding.
Gov. Malloy sent out an official letter to the team, asking them to come play a regular season outdoor game at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
The team’s merchandise is still a top-seller statewide despite the different zip code.
