The ban on Sunday liquor sales in Connecticut was officially lifted today.
Gov. Dannel Malloy formally legalized the sale of alcohol on Sundays for the first time in the state's history.
Under the law, which begins this Sunday, stores can sell alcohol from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Supporters say the legislations ends the state's most antiquated blue law and will mean millions of dollars in extra revenue to the state.
Other owners of small stores say it will increase their costs and cause them actually to lose money.
