Gov. Dannel Malloy proposed in his State of the State address several programs aimed at helping Connecticut's lowest-performing school districts and rewarding them based on progress. Malloy's plan calls for Milford schools to receive $320,000 in educational cost-sharing funds, with Norwalk getting $580,000 and Stamford on tap for $920,000. Bridgeport schools would see an additional $4.4 million. Bridgeport Superintendent Paul Vallas says a funding influx would help balance the budget and create initiatives to improve student achievement. The plan still requires approval from the state Legislature.Gov. Malloy to propose education reformsVIDEO: Malloy's State of the State
