A British graffiti artist has created a wall mural as a tribute to the 10 lives lost in the Woodycrest Avenue fire.Mohammed Ali is an artist who travels the world and uses graffiti to promote better understanding of the Muslim faith. After learning of the tragic fire that took the lives of 10 members of two families, Ali made a special visit to the Bronx.Ali created a multi-cultural mural as a tribute to the deceased members of the Magassa and Soumare families. The painting uses both Islamic and English text. ?From Allah We Come,? is written in Islamic with ?To Him We Shall Return,? in English on the mural. Ali hopes to show that there is no clash between the faith of Islam and urban culture.According to Ali, the neighborhood has embraced the mural. He claims that surviving members of the two families visited and became involved with the painting. He says neighborhood teens have pledged to make sure that proper care is taken of the mural.
