Beauty products from a New York company co-owned by a Connecticut woman will be included in this year's Grammy swag bag.
Patricia Gallardo, from Greenwich, Connecticut, and Saima Rathor, from Rye, New York, are the co-founders of EpicLight Beauty.
They will be packing up and sending off their beauty products to Los Angeles.
Gallardo and Rathor say beauty is for all ages and all faces, but their brand puts a spotlight on women over the age of 35.
"As we get older, our skin changes. So, we wanted to incorporate makeup, color, cosmetics that had skincare ingredients in them," said Gallardo.
Gallardo and Rathor launched EpicLight Beauty in Oct. 2022 and have already reached for the stars.
"We were asked if we wanted to submit our products for the Grammys gift bag, and this category," Gallardo and Rathor said. "We're over the moon because it's hitting another demographic for us and giving us an extreme amount of exposure."
The brand also targets women from all backgrounds. Rathor and Gallardo said being diverse helped them secure a spot at the Grammys gift bag.
Their blush is made for every skin tone, and it will be in the bags which are handed out to the presenters and performers of the Grammy awards.
Another key factor for entering the Grammys was being a company that gave back to the community.
"They want to incorporate small brands of people of color me and Sam, and my partner of both I'm Hispanic. And Saima is from Pakistan," Gallardo said. "And we also give a portion of our sales to several different charities."
