State and local officials joined representatives from power company Eversource at Norwalk City Hall today to announce grant awards for two charities in the city.
Officials say Cedar Court is receiving $500,000 and the Open Door Shelter is getting $351,000. Both organizations provide shelter and affordable housing.
State Sen. Bob Duff says the grants were made possible by a state budget provision for tax credits for companies like Eversource that make large charitable donations.
