The Food and Drug Administration issued a recall for certain cashews sold at Walmart that could contain undeclared allergens.
The recall affects the 8.25 oz Great Value Honey Roasted Cashews sold nationwide at select stores, including in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. The blue wrap around label has a UPC code of 078742133348 with a “Best if used” date listed by Jul 08 2025 GH2.
Officials say some of the cashews contain coconut and milk products when the labels say otherwise. The federal agency says an investigation identified that a limited number of incorrect honey roasted cashew labels were applied to the plastic cans of coconut cashews during the manufacturing process.
The FDA says people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to coconut or milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product.
Consumers are advised to throw away the product or return them to Walmart for a full refund.
