A Greenwich dog owner is giving an urgent warning after her pet was attacked and killed by a coyote.
Olna Gusinski says her 4-year-old miniature poodle, Harley, was viciously attacked in her backyard and died in a matter of minutes.
Gusinski says Harley had a routine at night where they let her outside before bed and she came back two minutes later. Thursday night, Harley didn't come back to the front door and she knew something was wrong.
Gusinski found the dog with a large whole in its neck, dead on the ground.
She believes it was a coyote's footprint that left the trail right by where she was found.
According to the state's website, coyotes were first found in Connecticut in the 1950s and are known to attack small dogs and animals under 25 pounds.
The attack comes after Stamford police warned of an aggressive coyote attacking pets last month. Greenwich police and animal control have yet to return News 12's request for comment.
