Police in Greenwich are searching for suspects after multiple break-ins and thefts were reported in one neighborhood over the weekend.
Investigators say one home was broken into on Pheasant Lane Saturday evening. They say the homeowners came home and interrupted the burglary.
There was heavy police presence in the neighborhood following the incident because investigators believed the suspect or suspects were still in the area.
Police say another home one street over on Rockwood Lane Spur was also broken into on the same night. They say an unlocked car with keys still inside was reported stolen from a nearby driveway. They say the vehicle may have been the getaway car.
Authorities say the thieves were targeting houses that looked like homeowners were away.
Police say they start to see more home break-ins this time of year because many people travel for the holidays. They suggest residents try to make their homes look as lived-in as possible. For people going away, they say installing a motion sensor light is a good way to deter criminals.
Police say they are following some solid leads, but are still looking for more information.
