5ds agoGreenwich police are warning residents about a scam involving someone pretending to be a detective.
Police say many people have received calls from a "Steve McMorris" from the Greenwich Police Department or the Old Greenwich Police Department.
As part of the scam, the caller is informed that there is an outstanding summons for their address.
Police confirm they do not have an officer by that name and that the Old Greenwich Police Department does not exist in town.
Anyone who receives the call is urged to hang up and ignore.
