After looking at this year?s fiscal budget, Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei says that it?s time to cut back spending.
Tesei believes cut backs should begin with keeping certain town jobs vacant, specifically the Board of Education.
Greenwich is one of the richest areas in the country but is not immune to taking a hit from the economy, Tesei says. Increased costs for utilities and fuel has forced the area to tighten on expenses.
?What I'm recommending is that we just extend the period of keeping [jobs] vacant to realize some salary savings,? explains Selectman Tesei.
