A police report naming a boy involved in the local Wiffle ball field dispute has been sent to several Greenwich residents, angering parents.
The parents say it is a low blow meant to smear the boy?s name, while town officials are investigating if it's an illegal form of reprisal.
Fran Fox, a supporter of the kids who tried but failed to keep a makeshift Wiffle ball field open, says she received the letter - with no return address - containing the police report.
?How did a juvenile sealed record get out, how did it leak?? asks Fox. ?To take one individual kid and smear his name is disgusting.?
The police report shows that charges were filed against the boy for allegedly stealing fireworks from a neighbor's home.
First Selectman Peter Tesei says the situation has gotten out of hand and wants police to investigate who leaked the minor's record.
?I am personally angered by it,? Tesei says.
The mother of the Wiffle ball player named in the police report says the charges against her child were dropped.
