A Guilford teen accused of stabbing a stranger in a Westport salon parking lot has been found competent to stand trial.
In court Thursday the judge ruled Ellis Tibere has been restored to competency and the case can move forward.
Tibere has been at Whiting Forensic Hospital for several months where medical professionals have been trying to restore him to competency. Previous examinations by the team there deemed him not competent.
He is facing charges including attempted murder for the incident in January 2020.
Police say he had a knife when he approached a Greenwich woman sitting in her car, opened the door and attacked her.
