Four of the eight survivors of a mass shooting that happened at the Trumbull Garden Apartment Complex in Bridgeport Wednesday remain hospitalized.
Police are seeking two gunmen in the shooting that left one dead and eight others injured.
Officials say the suspects opened fire at the complex on Trumbull Avenue after midnight.
Police have identified the slain victim as 37-year-old Savonnie McNeil, of Shelton. McNeil's mother is a City of Bridgeport security guard, according to police. At least one of the other victims was the son of a custodian who is also employed by the city.
In a press conference held Thursday, Bridgeport Police Department Chief Joseph Gaudett says investigators are seeking at least two shooters in the ambush-style attack that sent stray bullets tearing through homes.
According to officials, the victims' ages range from 27 to 59 years old. Bullets struck six men and three women. One woman was taking a bath when a bullet came through the shower wall and struck her in the back, police say.
Police say they have added extra patrols near the complex.
