Two families now have a new place to stay warm this winter thanks to Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County.
The organization dedicated its new homes on Granfield Avenue to the families Saturday.
Each family made an immediate commitment to help with the construction, and a "long term pledge" to be part of the community.
"And these are families that made a decision that they wanted to become homeowners, that they wanted to have a home for their families where their children can have their own bedrooms, where they could have backyard to have family picnics, to have their gardens, so we applaud those families for taking that step," said Carolyn Vermont, of Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County.
Habitat said a total of six families will eventually call the Granfield Avenue building home.
