The aftermath of Tropical Storm Hanna was not as bad throughout southwestern Connecticut as many had anticipated.

Even Wilton, which was hit with more rain this Saturday than any other town, got off relatively easy as Hanna passed through with little incident.

Wilton's fire chief says Hanna dropped more than 6 inches of rain on the town in just a few hours - more than the average for the entire month of September. There was also a tornado warning, but a twister never manifested.

Despite the downpour, police and fire personnel didn't need to bring in their 20 backup units on standby. Local communities were also prepared to pay for a large cleanup, but damages were light as was the bill.
