Hartford police: ATV drivers attempt street takeover; 5 arrested

Police say those drivers were attempting to conduct a street takeover at Greenfield and Woodland streets.

Hartford police arrested five people Saturday following several complaints about dozens of ATVs causing hazardous conditions in the city.
Police say those drivers were attempting to conduct a street takeover at Greenfield and Woodland streets.
Officers worked together to break up the group at different locations and apprehend drivers. Five people associated with the group were arrested.
Two of the people arrested, Weslye Santiago and Angel Figueroa, were transported to the Hartford Police Detention Facility where they were processed and charged.
Santiago was charged with operations prohibited, reckless driving and interfering with an officer. Figueroa was charged with reckless driving, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and misuse of market plates and weapons in a motor vehicle.
Four ATVs were seized and towed to the Hartford Police impound lot. One vehicle was also towed.
Police additionally recovered a firearm.
