(03/28/07) NEW CANAAN ? Nasty cracks and divots in New Canaan roadways better beware ? the pothole patrol is back.
Department of Public Works employees are once again patrolling the streets of New Canaan in search of the pesky potholes. Workers say cracks and dips are caused by moisture freezing and thawing under street surfaces. Eagle-eyed workers will be on the prowl to find the holes, and then fill them with a temporary ?cold patch.? They will later be filled with a permanent ?hot patch.?
Residents are urged to get involved in the perennial pothole fight. If anyone sees a pothole, they can call News 12 Connecticut at 1-800-824-9002 or e-mail news12ct@news12.com.
