Tarrytown saw some of the most rain in the Hudson Valley on Tuesday, according to preliminary reports.

"I've never seen how strong the rain was like that last night," said a Tarrytown resident.

Video shows water spilling over the road and sidewalk at the corner of Main Street and Broadway during Tuesday's storm.

"That was a lot. I had to pick up my kids from camp, so that was hard to drive through," said Melissa, who lives in the area.

Preliminary numbers show Tarrytown got about 4.8 inches of rain. That's not all neighbors there had to deal with.

"It was a flash and a tremendous bang, almost sounded like a hand grenade going off right outside the window," said resident Steve Cid.

Officials say a power line came down on Wildey Street, sparking a small fire within the window frame of a multi-family home.

Officials say no one was hurt.
