Vandals entered a historic cemetery in Weston and broke a half dozen headstones on Mother's Day, relatives say.
The Coley Cemetery on Weston Road is the town's oldest burying ground, dating back to the 18th century.
Bill Coley, whose great grandmother Abby's headstone was among six desecrated by the vandals, says the intrusion was a hate crime.
Susan Gunn-Bromley, the director of the Weston Historical Society, says the cemetery has been vandalized before, usually by teenagers.
Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
