Rep. Jim Himes (D) faced questions Monday night as 200 people packed Greenwich Town Hall for the first of three health care town hall meetings slated to take place this week.
The meeting lasted about 90 minutes and featured a crowd that was pretty much split down the middle on the issue. Although many in attendance supported President Barack Obama?s reform plan, many voiced fears that reform would lead to government control and reduce quality of care.
Himes says he expected the public?s reaction. ?You've got people who are supporters and people who are dead set against it,? says Himes. ?This is what democracy is.?
Himes will be in Norwalk on Wednesday night and Bridgeport on Thursday.
