Hundreds of Bronx residents laced up their shoes Sunday for the first annual Walk for Health at Van Cortlandt Park.
Participants paid $10 each to register before the 10 a.m. walk. The walkers chose which organizations would benefit from their donations. The event was meant to highlight the problems of autism, asthma, childhood obesity, cancer and diabetes.
Hospitals also took part in the event by setting up informational tables.
The Bronx Chamber of Commerce and the National Puerto Rican Parade Diversity Foundation hosted the walk.
