The Eagles are confident they can make another state playoff run with a two-headed monster in the backfield.
"You got one kid who rushed for 250 yards against Southington in a playoff game and you got another kid who is the Gatorade Player of the Year nominee from last year and they're back. We're going to use them both. You don't get a chance to have one running back like we have, now we have two and they both have different styles, so it'll make us pretty hard to defend," Trumbull head coach Marce Petroccio said.
The Eagles open the season Sept. 8 at Hamden.
