A violent stabbing in Kingsbridge quickly turned into a police-involved shooting. 
According to authorities, officers found 34-year-old Juan Ramos stabbing a 32-year-old woman in the stairwell of 2741 Sedgwick Ave. at around 4 a.m. Sunday. 
Police say they demanded that he drop the knife, but he refused, forcing two officers to each shoot him once in the torso. 
The victim was rushed to Saint Barnabas Hospital with more than 30 stab wounds. Ramos was also taken to the hospital and is in police custody.
