A Bridgeport business owner is feeling hopeful Thursday after bringing back a third of his workers.
Val Fernandes says he initially thought he might have to close Funchal Americana Buffet in downtown Bridgeport.
He says business is up 25% from one month ago, allowing him to hire back some of his staff.
Fernandes encourages other small business owners to stay positive and keep the faith.
He was featured in a News 12 story at the end of April regarding emergency federal funding for small business owners.
“I think everything should go back to normal June 20,” says Fernandes. “I'm hoping for that – hoping we can get a lot of catering, so my employees can go full-time because right now they're doing part-time."
