Old Saint Nick landed by helicopter at Herrick Park in East Hampton to help kick off the annual Santa Fest.

The event includes a parade down Main Street, an opportunity to take photos with Santa, a screening of the movie "Elf" and a tree lighting.

"It's amazing to see the kids their eyes are all glazed over when they see Santa and it's such a good feeling," said Jerry Larsen, mayor of East Hampton.

“We’ve have about four or five thousand families come through the village, have a great time, and everything is for free," said Bradford Billet, CEO of the East Hampton Village Foundation.
