The body found in the Stamford home where an hourslong standoff occurred has been identified as Carmine Boccuzzi, police say.
Court records indicated that Boccuzzi, 79, was a prior tenant at the Oaklawn Avenue home.
Once the home was processed by state police, police say Boccuzzi's body was removed and taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

An autopsy determined Boccuzzi's cause of death to be blunt impact injuries to the head and torso with gagging. The manner of death was homicide.
Police say Boccuzzi was identified through DNA comparison with a family member.
