Gov. Ned Lamont proposed a bigger Earned Income Tax Credit Monday which could mean lower tax rates for some families.
More than 200,000 lower-income families would qualify under this proposal.
"I think it's probably the most important, effective way that we can get a couple of thousand dollars, depending on the number of kids, your income bracket -- make life a little more supportable," said Lamont.
The average family would save about $211 a year, according to the state tax commissioner.
Lamont plans to propose several other tax cuts in his budget next week.
