Stamford lawmakers are working on a new law aimed at easing road congestion at busy intersections.
The law would allow police to ticket drivers who block intersections, creating gridlock and traffic jams. City officials have designated more than 20 intersections along I-95 as target areas.
Many residents are in favor of the proposed law and say placing "Don't Block the Box" signs at certain intersections may encourage drivers to follow the rules. Officials say drivers who don't obey the signs could be ticketed and fined.
