State legislators met in Hartford Monday to look into the growing number of retailers opening their doors for shoppers on Thanksgiving.
Lawmakers say they are considering legislation to curtail the practice of workers having to work on the national holiday.
Lawmakers say the legislation would require businesses to pay workers two and a half times for overtime on Thanksgiving.
