The trial began Tuesday for a man accused of fatally stabbing an elderly North Stamford woman in 2005. Harry Gonzalez is charged with murder in the death of 75-year-old retired schoolteacher Joanne Troutwein. In the Stamford courtroom, lawyers for Gonzalez say their client did not commit the murder. They say a DNA sample taken from the murder weapon does not match the defendant?s.Police say Gonzalez slashed Troutwein's throat while his girlfriend, Jennifer Kos, held a pillow over the face of the victim?s elderly roommate. Later in the week, Kos is expected to testify against Gonzalez in exchange for a lesser sentence. However, Gonzalez's attorneys say Kos isn't credible and they foresee their client going free.
