State lawmakers today approved a bipartisan bill to cap gasoline taxes in Connecticut.
The current wholesale price of gasoline is about $3.20 a gallon. The bill will cap the taxable portion of that at $3.
Consumers could see savings of 5-7 cents per gallon when the cap takes effect.
