Two local businesses are stepping up to help Bridgeport families this holiday season.

Conlon Amendola family law firm, of Southport and A&S Fine Foods, in Westport, delivered 50 complete Thanksgiving dinners to families of students at Capital Prep Harbor School. After seeing an increase in need in recent years, the organizations say they stepped in to make sure no student goes without a holiday meal.

"And we feel that giving what we can - and food - is very important this time of year for Thanksgiving. We want all the families to be able to have a turkey, and we wanted to do something to give something back and we all love food, so this is very easy for us to do,” said Bonnie Amendola, managing partner of Conlon Amendola Family Law Firm.

Student leaders participated in collecting the dinners, which included a fresh turkey with an array of traditional sides.
