Police departments in southwestern Connecticut are mourning the killings of two NYPD officers.
Officers in Weston and Stratford will cover their badges with black bands out of respect for NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, who were shot and killed by Ismaaiyl Brinsley in Brooklyn.
They say what happened Saturday is heartbreaking and makes them pause and think about their day-to-day operations.
Stratford Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour says, "An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us."
Officer Ramos's funeral will be Saturday at Christ Tabernacle Church on Myrtle Avenue in Glendale. Officer Liu's funeral has not been announced yet.
Stratford and Weston police departments say they will have officers in attendance.
