Organizers and local authorities were disappointed Saturday by the low turnout at an anti-violence rally in Stratford.
Lavonne McIntosh, whose 15-year-old son, Corey, was allegedly attacked on the campus of Stratford High School Oct. 30, organized the rally to raise awareness. McIntosh says she was inspired to hold the event by News 12 Connecticut's coverage of the recent shooting at a Trumbull movie theater.
The rally, which was held on the Stratford Town Green, was supposed to draw local teens and residents and educate them about avoiding violence. McIntosh says the lack of supporters is a testament to the growing violence problem.
