Seven people have been arrested following a major drug bust in Norwalk in what police are calling “Operation Nip Tuck.”
The suspects are facing possession of narcotics or controlled substances charges.
According to police, the investigation came after residents and business owners complained about drug dealing, loitering and public drinking on lower Ely Avenue.
Police say 23 bags of Fentanyl-laced heroin were recovered at the scene.
“When the special services division joined with the community police services division to make the arrest, they witnessed additional people coming up to purchase, that's where the further arrests came from,” says Sgt. Sofia Gulino.
The suspects were all arrested at different times, with some at different locations.
One of the suspects had an 18-month-old child with her.
All suspects will appear in court later this month.
