A homeless man is accused of punching an employee Tuesday at a West Hempstead laundromat.
Investigators say Kevin Jemerson entered the Laundry Palace on Hempstead Turnpike around 1 a.m., approached an employee and struck him.
The worker fled to an employee-only area to call 911. However, police say Jemerson followed him and threw the phone on the floor.
Jemerson ran from the scene but was apprehended by officers nearby.
The charges against him include burglary, criminal mischief and harassment.
