? An 80-year-old Stratford man is listed in critical condition after police say he was beaten by his own grandson Wednesday.
According to police, the incident took place at 5522 Main St. in the Putney section of Stratford near Boothe Memorial Park. Investigators say 20-year-old Chris Craigwell beat his grandfather, Morris King, in a drug-induced rage.
After the alleged beating, police say Craigwell ran out of the house, jumped a wire fence and knocked on the window of a passing car. At that point, police say Craigwell told the driver that his grandfather fell down the stairs. He also apparently told the driver he needed money.
Police say King?s injuries are very severe and he could die from them. He is currently listed in critical condition in the ICU at St. Vincent?s Medical Center.
Craigwell is being held on $2 million bond.
