Authorities have confirmed Sen. Richard Blumenthal's staff received a death threat against him.
It came in a telephone call last week to his office in Washington, DC.
Broadcast reports say the FBI arrested 62-year-old Rowland Edwin Dodge Jr. in North Carolina on Tuesday.
Blumenthal declined to comment.
